The Yankees are referred to as those Damn Yankees! primarily this is in the southern US States ! While the Evil Empire handle , I believe was a Hollywood title , when the Dodgers were stolen away from Brooklyn !!!Yet the LA team did decidedly better against their former NY cousins after deserting Brooklyn , then our Bums had ! So when you remark , outside of the Bronx ! please update and change that expression from the 50's to THE TRI-STATE AREA !As proof of this pudding , how else could some other sports teams be called The New York Giants or Jets ! Ya think ???I think some comparison of Papa George to MING the MERCILESS 's Evil Empire in the Flash Gordon Serials , might even have come from Billy Martin !BTW , this was a comment not a query on the Yankees losing out on Cliff Lee to Rangers story.
