TonyAwards.com - The American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards - Official Website by IBM The Wizard's very pleased to see HAIR was the winner in the revival category....my dearest friends know one of my greatest experiences , was performing in a production of HAIR in the early '70's in Virginia Beach 's Tidewater Dinner Theater. Our production was so well liked , even agents from William Morris Agency came to see our cast...the rumor was they were casting the movie , but it got delayed , so none of us were ever used cause we got too old (not mentally) for the time....when it finally got made , it was not the same feeling the live productions emitted to the audiences. Recent rumors The Wizard heard rumblings about was a new movie version of the film , which will capture the true essence of the play....which from my readings on-line, most actors found , who have performed in a stage production of HAIR , feel was totally lost in the movie !!!!!
