He closed a show I saw at Norfolk Scope in Virginia in 1970 or 1971 , I think Loggins & Messina were headliner on 2nd , and opener was the Checkmates but it was long ago . Nobody knew who he was but the hippies I was with , and me ! So many people were worn out and left , Shame he was really good but pissed off he was closing and very vocal about it and people leaving . Yet , he did a good show , all the people who stayed gave him a encore but you could tell he was a bit saddened .
