A BIT OF TRIVIA, TO END YOUR YEAR WITH A SMILE:

S.H.I.T.

In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything was transported by ship.

It was also before commercial fertilizer's invention. Large shipments of manure were common. In dry form, it weighed a lot less than when wet. Once water, (at sea,) hit it, it not only became heavier, but also began the process of fermentation again, of which a by-product is methane gas.

As the stuff was stored below decks, in bundles, you can see what could, (and did,) happen. Methane began to build up below decks, and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOOMMM ! ! !
Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening. After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term, "S.H.I.T." on them, which meant to the sailors to, "Ship High In Transit." In other words, high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo, and start the production of methane.
You probably did not know this true history of the word, "SHIT." Neither did I ! ! !

My pal Sal , does send me a lotta good SHIT....The Wizard finds most of the images.....there's alot of SHIT in here

The Blind Man

A blind man enters a lesbian bar by mistake. He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a drink.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender in a loud voice, "Hey bartender, you wanna hear a dumb blonde joke?"
The bar immediately falls deathly quiet.
In a deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, "Before you tell that joke, sir, I think it is just fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five things...
One: The bartender is a blonde woman.>>>>
Two: The bouncer is a blonde woman.>>>>
Three: The woman sitting next to me is blonde and is a professional boxer.>>>>
Four: The lady to your right is a blonde and is a professional wrestler.>>>>
Five: I'm a 6-foot, 200 pound blonde woman with a Ph.D., a black belt in karate, and a very bad attitude. Now, think about it seriously, mister. Do you still want to tell that joke?"
The blind man thinks for a second, shakes his head and says, "Nah. Not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times."

THE YEAR 1905

This will boggle your mind, I know it did mine!
The year is 1905. One hundred years ago!
What a difference a century makes!

Here are some of the U.S. statistics for the Year 1905:
The average life expectancy in the U.S. was 47 years.
Only 14 percent of the homes in the U.S. had a bathtub.
Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.
A three-minute call from Denver to New York City cost eleven dollars.
There were only 8,000 cars in the U.S., and only 144 miles of paved roads.
The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.
Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Tennessee were each more heavily populated than California. (Wish they still were.)
With a mere 1.4 million people, California was only the 21st most populous state in the Union.
The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower!
The average wage in the U.S. was 22 cents per hour.
The average U.S. worker made between $200 and $400 per year.
A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year, a dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.
More than 95 percent of all births in the U.S. took place at home.
Ninety percent of all U.S. doctors had no college education.
Instead, they attended so-called medical schools,
many of which were condemned in the press and
by the government as "substandard."
Sugar cost four cents a pound.
Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.
Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.
Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used borax or egg yolks for shampoo.
Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.
Five leading causes of death in the U.S. were:
1. Pneumonia and Influenza
2. Tuberculosis 3. Diarrhea
4. Heart disease 5. Stroke
The American flag had 45 stars.
Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska hadn't been admitted to the Union yet.

The population of
Las Vegas, Nevada, was only 30!!!
Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented yet.
There was no Mother's Day or Father's Day.
Two out of every 10 U.S. adults couldn't read or write. (Not sure we have improved on this one.)
Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.
Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores! Back then pharmacist said, "Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health." (Shocking!)
Eighteen percent of households in the U.S. had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.
There were about 230 reported murders in the entire U.S.
And I forwarded this from someone else without typing it myself, and sent it to you in a matter of seconds!

Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years. It staggers the mind. !!!!! (From Hot Rod Andy)
