This is becoming something of a work in progress so sorry the posts are not
in some sort of perfect order ! The Wizard would like to point out to the
readers the pic above is THE STEEPLECHASE HORSE RACE RIDE which if you
didn't win you'd have to go thru the Funhouse to get out , but its name
Funhouse was an oxymoron, but when you were a kid, you just didn't know it !
The Wizard would like to give some praise to a couple of other rides that
went out of existence there , unless someone knows otherwise : THE TORNADO ,
The Thunderboldt ,THE BOBSLED all types of roller coasters and The Steeplechase
Horse Race Ride !!!!! PS Oh ! those bumper car rides , whose kidneys will ever forget them. I 'd ride 'em today in a New York minute and my personal honorable mentions for The Tilt-a-Whirl , The Carousel in SAP ( Fastest in the world at one time ! ) ,the swings,slides and a few others in SAP, that I never saw anywhere else but at SAP . Then The Wizard's vote for worst rides at Coney Island THE WILD MOUSE , a small erector set lookin' roller coaster and SAP's Roller Coaster ( really was a waste after the others above and the THE CYCLONE !!!

Although the Park is no longer there , Coney Island still features two great American amusement park ride icons,of course there's other rides too ! When the Wizard first met Gove he was playing at The Red Mule in Norfolk , Va. .....a place noted for bringin' a wide variety of name artists of the late 60's......later while producing concerts in Colorado , Gove was the opening artist for Doc Watson and Merle ,then later on former Amazing Rythm Aces ! lead vocalist and songwriter Russell Smith....both occasions led to more fans for the always entertaining Gove.......it's also great to be back in touch with him today !!!!

I hope somebody at TSG will get an answer to the big question circulating in forums on the net....How could a plane with their doors closed and backing out of their dock stop and re-open their doors to allow 2 more people on board ? Was it the influence of the series producers to plan on such a circumstance or was the Airline just trying to get good public relations since there were cameramen filming. I'm sure the Airlines are all pre-contacted about the whole thing, by someone associated with THE AMAZING RACE production staff. After Rob & Amber watched the show how did they feel about it. It would have been the first time the race had been won by somebody outright, without the bottlenecks to let eveybody come down to a tight finish. But everyone loves a close race and this one turned out just the way the producers hoped or made happen!

John PrineTHE WIZARD has got the best story about this guy.....when I drove him from Boulder to his concert I was producing in Steamboat Springs , CO......we stopped in a golden arches joint in Dillon.....while we were eatin' our burgers a man walked up to John and it was his doctor who had gotten him off drugs , that were killin' him . he was goin' sking nearby. Well we walked out to the rental van and John who had previously said no to smokin' a doobie brothers turned around to all and said (I'll not put this in quotation marks ! ) Let's light one up . my doctor's close by , so if I get out of control not to worry....cause my doctor's in the neighborhood !!! Needless to say I left him in his room at 7AM !!!!!
Oh Boy
Oh BoyThis is a record company started by JOHN PRINE and his manager and long time friend AL BUNETTA . When the Wizard was producing concerts in Colorado I happened to meet Al when he was in Boulder with John on tour . When we drove up to his concert , I was producing , in Steamboat Springs , Co. Al took a liking to moi ! Later after a sellout performance Al and I got to talking about our dads....turns out his father stayed at the Park Sheraton the same time my dad worked there . Al's dad was producing the Jackie Gleason Show and my dad was paling around with Gleason and his valet . He took bets for them and placed it with the bookie out of the hotel coffee shop......he also use to go up to the suite for the gigantic spaghetti & meatball dinner parties ; that Jackie would have ! So we kinda swapped dad stories that night....till we went to John's room to party after we closed the band hospitality suite .
Al Bunetta the next day called FEYLINE PRODUCTIONS' Tom Morris (this is the company that did most or all the shows at the RED ROCKS natural amphitheater outside Denver ) Al tells the FEYLINE rep that last night they were treated to the best backstage hospitality spread of food and drink they'd ever seen before or after a show ! A few days later , Tom calls the Wizard to let him know of Al's and John's praise for moi as a producer. But then he tells me the best part "anytime John plays anywhere on the western slope of Colorado you have the rights to be the producer. In other words they'll give you first right of refusal ." I was very elated and proud that everyone was talkin' 'bout how this small time producer put out the best spread backstage . I left for Thailand before I ever got to see them again . Actually these were good people and its John's first new material album in over 9 years , give it a listen !!!!!
