My experience with Johnny comes from New Orleans , Bourbon St. where he sat in with SUGARDADDY at the Ivanhoe Bar....The Wizard luckily got to do his thing with Johnny.....Mustang Sally and St. James Infirmary Blues were my two sitting in songs with so many noted artists but the night with Johnny Winter always stood out in my mind. After my two numbers he shook my hand as he proceded to get off stage with me....he told me "great job"....as he attempted to give Kenny the lead guitarist his ax back Kenny said to Johnny "what the hell you want me to do with this thing now"....Kenny refering to after this performance of Johnny on his guitar that he wouldn't ever be able to make it sound that good when he played it again.....Johnny turned to Kenny and said "do the same thing you were doin' with it before, kickin' ass ,brother ! ".....Kenny Renthro was also a Texas bluesman who could lay down the licks and Johnny let him know it too !!!!!
